In this role, you will partner closely with Silicon, Electrical, and Computer Vision teams to architect, design, and deliver the foundational SW and HW for our next products and platforms. RL Embedded Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead teams to deliver firmware and software for world-class embedded products

2. Collaborate across computer vision, silicon design, hardware, and product teams to define embedded system architectures enabling next generation AR devices

3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to your team members and your project peers

4. Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams

5. Deliver the foundational BSP for products and platforms enabling power, camera, update, etc. enabling product development

6. Drive customer experience, collaborating across the full technology stack, continually raising the bar on functionality, quality, usability, and simplicity

7. Build software development processes that allow for rapid development and experimentation while maintaining a high quality product

Minimum Qualifications:

8. BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field Technical leadership experience in C/C++ development targeting ARM processors and SoCs

9. 2+ years managing the technical development of firmware/software and 5+ years of experience on firmware development

10. Prior work experience leading a product through the complete Firmware/Software life cycle, consisting of architecture, development, test, productization, bug fixes and deployment

11. Experience shipping embedded firmware in a consumer product

12. Experience with processes enabling delivery of quality products to end customers

13. Hands-on coding experience with peripherals such as USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO, etc.

14. In-depth embedded domain knowledge of power and/or cameras

15. In-depth experience with protocol implementations such as USB device classes (UVC, UAC, HID)

16. Experience with embedded DSP and CPU architectures

17. Hands-on experience with FPGA and vendor specific hardware evaluation boards

18. Experience in real-time processing for computer vision and user interaction tasks, high-compute/throughput systems and using simulation and modeling technique to estimate performance and power

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
