Meta Technical Artist, Metaverse - Experience Builder in Burlingame, California

Summary:

A Technical Artist is the key bridge between artists and engineers, and Horizon Worlds is currently looking for a passionate team member to work closely with a small team to build highly interactive first party games on our Horizon Worlds platform.

Required Skills:

Technical Artist, Metaverse - Experience Builder Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with a small strike team to focus on creating VR games within Horizon Worlds

  2. Develop and create high-quality, optimized 3D assets, materials and shaders

  3. Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.

  4. Implement dynamic and responsive visual effects that enhance the player's immersive experience

  5. Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads

  6. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  7. Ensure that all visual elements meet creative quality bar, the technical specifications and are optimized for performance

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience working independently and manage one’s time and tasks in an ambiguous environment.

  2. Effective communication and drafting skills. Communication across teams including engineers and artists.

  3. Must have experience using a professional game engine like Unity or Unreal.

  4. Expertise with DCC packages, and DCC-to-game engine pipelines

  5. Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams

  6. Experience communicating across team members including engineers and designers

  7. Experience developing real-time games

  8. Experience in real-time content creation (characters/environments/VFX/animation/lighting).

  9. Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience developing real-time experiences for VR headsets

  2. Deep knowledge of game engines, preferably Unity

  3. Being interested and informed about emerging technologies, and video games

  4. Self-motivated, product thinking mindset

Public Compensation:

$153,000/year to $212,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
