Labcorp Sr Director IAS Accounts Payable in Burlington, North Carolina

Laboratory Corporation of America® Holdings, an S&P 500 company, is currently seeking an Integrated Accounting Services (IAS), Accounts Payable Senior Director. This individual will be responsible for the following:

The leadership of the global Accounts Payable and Corporate Credit Services teams across Diagnostics (DX) and Biopharma Lab Services (BLS) segments which consists of onshore and offshore team members.

Team Leadership

  • Champion IAS Culture and Mission & Vision Statement.

  • Ensure that daily processes and tasks are completed to guarantee the timely payment of AP Invoices.

  • Ensure that AP and Card Services team members provide support services based on SLA requirements.

  • Support AP Supervisors and Corporate Card Services Manager to resolve complex and escalated issues.

  • Deliver feedback, coaching, and career development plans for team members.

3rd Party Business Process Outsourcing

  • Manage overall relationship with BPO provider.

  • Oversee activities managed by the BPO provider to ensure SLA quality and timeliness standards are met and develop action plans to resolve identified issues.

  • Management of contract changes and monthly billing.

  • Help facilitate quarterly business reviews.

  • Ensure regular review of the Business Continuity Plan.

Compliance and Controls

  • Review and approve new procedures and SLAs.

  • Maintain SOX control documentation and ensure compliance.

  • Provide direction, oversight, and inputs for internal and external audit activities as needed, directing appropriate departments for supporting documentation when necessary.

Process Improvement

  • Ownership mindset focused on continuous process improvement, harmonization & standardization of policies and processes, stakeholder satisfaction, and vendor support.

  • Prioritize and implement opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Responsible for maintaining global standard processes for the AP business flow, including reviewing the judgment-based activities completed by the BLS / DX Accounts Payable team.

Stakeholder Partnerships

  • Partner with relevant Labcorp finance & business leaders to address issues that arise within the Procure to Pay cycle through regular interaction.

  • Partner with vendors to discuss P2P process and resolve issues.

  • Adhere to a proactive Business Partnership mindset, with the ability to problem-solve and interact professionally with internal and external clients to meet everyone’s needs in an effective and timely manner.

Other

  • Work with the VP of IAS to develop and execute on the roadmap to obtain The Hackett Groups Digital World Class status.

  • Lead acquisition and divesture activities from deal finalization through completion and stabilization within the IAS organization. Ensure acquisition is adhering to corporate policies, leveraging systems and applications where possible, and supporting training for the transactions to be absorbed within the BPO.

  • Monthly key metric and project status reporting to Senior Leadership.

  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Education/Qualifications

  • Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, or equivalent number of years of experience.

Experience

  • 20+ years of business experience in Accounting or Finance with increasing responsibility

  • 15+ years supervisory experience preferred.

  • International Accounts Payable experience.

  • Preferred work experience with Oracle Fusion and/or PeopleSoft ERP system.

  • Experience managing 3rd party BPO relationships.

  • Has worked in a mature company with end-to-end Procure-To- Pay business process ownership.

  • Deep knowledge of Sourcing & Procurement processes.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate direct and indirect reports.

  • Demonstrate ability to plan, multi-task, and prioritize.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (intermediate level).

  • Process Improvement and Project Management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with large amounts of data.
