Posting Summary
Reporting directly to the director of the Humanities Center, the Assistant Director oversees the Center’s operations and will be responsible for creating systems and processes that support its central initiatives. This position guides, implements, and develops ideas for projects and events that match the Center’s mission with university and community needs as well as potential impact. The position manages budget and administrative details; communications and outreach strategy; and execution. This position also represents the Center at meetings and events. Working independently, the position plans, organizes and manages all aspects of the Center programs, events, budgets, publicity and marketing and supervises contractors and student employees as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in humanistic discipline or related field and three to four years of experience relating to higher education or non-profit organizations. Expertise in policies, procedures, and best practices surrounding budgeting, event planning, and publicity & marketing. Strong organizational and leadership skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task required. Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, seek out solutions, develop long term goals, make judgements, and direct others required. Effective written, visual, and oral communication skills required.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $50,000 to $65,000
