Posting Summary
The University of Vermont seeks a detail-oriented and collaborative member to join our Benefits Processing Team. Our Benefits Process Specialist will ensure employee benefit elections are entered into and processed accurately utilizing the University’s Human Resource Information Systems (PeopleSoft, Retiree Database & Banner). Communicate benefit elections, changes, and potential discrepancies with vendors. Provide customer service to department administrators, employees, retirees and their dependents when addressing benefit related inquiries and issues.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate’s degree with one to three years related experience required. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline driven environment and serve as an effective team member. Proficiency with computer software and the ability to learn new systems and software is essential. Ability to effectively communicate with customers to obtain information and provide assistance is required. Ability to maintain confidentiality required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of University students, personnel, and affiliates, and across multiple disciplines. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice issues, and fostering a collaborative, multicultural environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $24 to $26/hr
Other Information
Special Conditions Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
