Posting Summary
Provide technical assistance for a Pharmacology laboratory studying ion channel regulation of smooth muscle function. Maintain transgenic mouse colonies. Purchase laboratory chemicals and equipment and reconcile monthly billing statements. Perform molecular biology and related experiments on tissue samples.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science and one to two years of related laboratory experience using PCR and other molecular biology techniques required. Experience working with animals. Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work with limited supervision required.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $20 to $23/hour
Other Information
Special Conditions Contingent on continued funding, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Bargaining unit position, Background Check required for this position

Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
