    General Summary:

    The Industrial Electrician installs, maintain, and repairs all electrical tasks for the various locations and for the corporate office. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. The electrician must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient. The position receives guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of tasks and projects assigned, the incumbent determines methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments while operating within specific policy guidelines.

    Good judgment and common sense are required in all duties and any other tasks assigned. Normal work hours are 7:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday and may include weekend hours. The work hours may fluctuate based on production goals. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and task to be performed.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all work in a safe, efficient manner, following routine and all standards of performance. Work is repetitive and continuous.

  • Installs, services and repairs electrical panels, wiring, lighting and fixtures as well as specialized electrical equipment and machinery.

  • Operates powered hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.

  • Constructs and maintains electrical service equipment.

  • Reads electrical circuit diagrams.

  • Requisitions material and supplies from vendors; calls vendors to discuss and/or coordinate electrical repairs and parts.

  • May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.

  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

    Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, in English, such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization in English.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks

  • Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

    Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Three (3) to five (5) years of prior related experience required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License required
