DPA Grant-Specific Videographer-Graduate School

Full-Time, ON-SITE

MT Tech is seeking a talented and experienced Videographer to join our new team. This grant-funded position is essential for creating engaging and up-to-date content for DPA-grant funded courses. The successful candidate will work with faculty and instructional designers to create the highest-quality course content in addition to professional-level promotional content that introduces the unique opportunities offered by this program.

Duties:

The DPA-grant specific videographer will:

  • Work closely with industry reps, the external advisory board, and MT Tech’s internal University Relations office in the creation of promotional content that introduces the unique opportunities offered by this program. 

  • Work with the thematic teams to design top-quality asynchronous audio/video content for a target audience of professional-level students in the four areas of engineering: metallurgical, geological, mining, and environmental.

  • Assist and advise the DPA-IDs with creating video/audio content that adheres to best practice in alignment, intellectual property, RSI, and accessibility, and can be used for gamification, VR/AR, and AI, etc.

  • Coordinate with the Director of the Center for Academic Innovation, the Subject Matter Experts, the facilitators, and the GAs through discussions, work-sharing, and course reviews to ensure that all course content is exactly what is wanted and is presented in accessible, logical, usable ways.

  • Participate in course design reviews and revise course video/audio content as needed.

  • Coordinate with the Director of the Center for Academic Innovation to stay on schedule and produce completed deliverables on time and ready to be taught presented.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in videography/audiography or related field OR portfolio of work

  • Ability to apply best practice techniques to video planning and production.

  • Demonstrated experience creating video content for use in distance learning 

  • Experience designing to meet the requirements of accreditation and regulatory compliance, especially producing for accessibility.

  • Ability to work well with faculty who are highly skilled experts in their fields, including talking through the planning process of video production to create the most effective product.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work on various parts of a project simultaneously (i.e., as one video is being reviewed, another might be just getting started, and another might be in editing)

  • Be available for regular meetings with the faculty and any other relevant individuals (IDs, TAs, SMEs, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with instructors in one of the four thematic areas of engineering: metallurgical, geological, mining, and environmental.

  • Experience as an online student in higher ed, preferably in a STEM discipline. 

  • Experience building engaging content best practice for usability and accessibility.

  • Experience with Quality Matters or other, similar, quality assurance programs for distance learning.
