SCL Health Patient Care Assistant Telemetry in Butte, Montana
Job Description:
Assists patients with healthcare needs who are ill or recovering from surgery or disease. Patient Care Assist II will be assigned by an RN and will function under the delegation of an RN. The PCA II is responsible to perform the following duties:As a Patient Care Assistant with us, you will know how to:
Provide assistance to patients, families, visitors and hospital staff.
Augment services and staff by assisting with nursing and patient care activities
Round on patients, answer call lights and phones
Tend to basic needs of patients, insure their comfort.
Effectively communicate needs of patient to staff
Adhere to unit standards and guidelines
Ensure patient's privacy at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or the equivalent, required
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)certification upon hire or obtained within six months of hire with prior approval
Our medical unit is a 26-bed unit with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. Your role will be to assist patients in ambulation, bathing, feeding, admission and discharge. It is a great unit for learning and obtaining and perfecting skills. Our team is eager, excited, welcoming and we have excellent teamwork. We would love to welcome you as part of our team!
