    About The Job

    Dudek is seeking an entry- or mid-level Air Quality Specialist to prepare air quality, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and energy impact analysis to support projects subject to compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), in addition to participating in climate action planning.

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare air quality and GHG emissions inventory and mitigation development and report preparation for air quality and GHG impact analyses.

  • Contribute to climate action plans and related plans such as climate action and adaptation plans.

  • Prepare energy impact analyses.

  • Following internal mentoring, prepare air dispersion modeling and health risk assessments (HRAs).

  • Communicate complex analyses to clients, the public, and decision makers in an understandable fashion.

  • Work independently, but also actively participate in team brainstorming activities and mentoring of other team members (knowledge sharing).

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating and working directly with clients and various project managers.

  • Problem solving from both a scientific evidence and creative mindset.

  • Efficiently manage work time to meet deadlines.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Earth Science, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Engineering, or related field of study is required.

  • Equivalent work experience or training in an environmental discipline may be substituted for the degree.

    • As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Excitement and dedication to learn about air quality and GHG emissions analyses and climate action planning, with existing experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong technical aptitude to learn analyses quickly.

  • Desire to work collaboratively and contribute to team success, helping to take the team to the next level, and takes pride in one’s quality of work.

    Physical Requirements

    Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

  • This job requires project site visits which are based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

    Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • This job may require working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.

  • This may job require attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with government agency representatives, members of the public, and others. Speaking, hearing and listening are required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Outdoor activity may involve walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.

    Proposed Salary Range: $58,000 - $68,000 annually*

    *Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
