All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1. Workers are needed to plant, maintain and harvest various culinary and medicinal herbs. Workers will perform field work and greenhouse work including planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing and other tasks required in the planting, maintaining, and harvesting of various herb crops. Workers will sort, wash, pack and otherwise prepare various crops for storage and shipping. Workers will perform other farm-related duties including but not limited to the following: load and unload trucks and other farm vehicles, setup and operate irrigation equipment, and cut brush and other vegetation in and around fields, buildings and equipment. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer\'s fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver\'s license. Workers must be able to work in various extreme weather conditions from damp and cold spring and fall days to hot and humid summer days. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Workers must be available for work Monday through Saturday. Workers may require to work 7 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Friday and may work 5 hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Saturdays. Daily beginning and ending times will vary depending on crop and other conditions. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform assigned duties. Workers get a 60-minute Lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. The workers will return to work after their 60 minutes are up. Beginning and ending times may vary depending upon weather and crop conditions. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.
