KBF is currently seeking an Associate to join our Corporate Tax Services team in our Irvine or San Diego office locations starting in Winter or Fall 2025.

The KBF Corporate Tax Services group is 100% focused on income tax accounting assistance, tax compliance, and tax consulting. This includes preparation and review of income tax provision calculations, income tax return preparation and review, assistance with day-to-day federal, state, and international tax matters that may arise, and the identification, design, and implementation of tax planning strategies. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review income tax provisions pursuant to ASC 740

  • Perform tax-related tasks, including compliance, advising and planning for a variety of clients in different industries, multistate and/or multinational enterprises including partnerships, corporations and S-corporations

  • Proactively manage project deadlines to ensure delivery of work products based on client expectations and statutory deadlines

  • Review work of interns and associates before submitting to the management team for review

  • Openly communicate with partners, managers, and teams about the status, timeline, issues, and progress of projects, tasks, and associated budgets

  • Stay current on changes within the profession and business environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university

  • Meet all educational requirements to satisfy the 150 semester (225 quarter) credit hour requirement necessary for the CPA license in the state where your office will be located prior to starting as an Associate

  • Strong ambition to become a Certified Public Accountant and a desire to pursue a career in Tax

  • Graduation and CPA eligibility dates must align based on the applicant’s starting season:

  • Winter 2025 Associate Applicants:

  • Latest graduation with CPA eligibility date: December 2024

  • Fall 2025 Associate Applicants:

  • Latest graduation with CPA eligibility date: June 2025

  • Motivated, quick learner with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

  • Eligible to work in the U.S
