That’s why we’re always looking to empower talented individuals to perform at their best every single day. We’re proud of our community of smart people and vibrant voices who come together to do what’s right by our clients and each other. Our success is driven by curiosity, courage and customer obsession. The confidence and drive to be bold at work. Join us and build an extraordinary future.

About This Role:

Focusing primarily on copyediting, the Editor maintains the high quality of Forrester’s written products, including the consistency and style of written copy, and helps set editorial style. This individual builds close working relationships with colleagues in the consulting and research organizations as well as other product areas of the company to ensure top-notch quality in Forrester’s written content. Success in this position entails independent work with little direction as well as effective collaboration skills.

Job Description:

  • Copyedit, proofread, and provide a light content edit — for clarity, flow, logic, length, and adherence to Forrester style — on a variety of consulting and research deliverables, including presentations, graphics, and spreadsheets.

  • Collaborate with consultants and analysts to ensure that deliverables are correct, clearly written, accurate, and reflect the style and integrity of Forrester.

  • Maintain data consistency across files and ensure that corresponding spreadsheets are accurate, and that graphics visually convey and enhance the main idea of the written material. Check sometimes-challenging data calculations for accuracy.

  • Manage the relationship between editing, consulting, and research teams. Coordinate workflow and edit consultants’ and analysts’ deliverables. Develop an understanding of each team’s industry and its related terminology.

  • Act as a point of contact for editorial questions, helping internal clients with processes, guidance, and templates.

  • Help train the consulting and research organization on publishing processes and best practices.

  • Assist with writing and editing internal documents, checklists, and templates.

  • Maintain the integrity and overall quality of Forrester’s written communications.

Job Requirements:

  • A BA degree, preferably in English, journalism, or communications. A thorough knowledge and love of the English language is essential.

  • At least two to three years’ copyediting experience in a professional publishing environment. An understanding of the technology industry and related terminology is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of American English and Associated Press style. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus.

  • Experience in editing documents from non-native English speakers is preferred, as is experience in working with/training non-native English speakers.

  • Extreme attention to detail, high standards for quality, customer obsession, and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication, time management, and decision-making skills; effective handling of time-critical editing requests in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to build strong relationships with content producers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to work constructively with internal clients located around the world.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with graphic editing and design software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, is a plus.
