Job Title: Electrical Mechanical Technician

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Production Technician is to assemble and test systems and related products in our manufacturing facility, following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions. This role involves mechanical assembly of subassemblies using small hand and/or power tools, final assembly of systems and accessories, testing and troubleshooting of subassemblies and final assemblies, and working with other technicians and engineers to improve assembly processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test systems and related products in the manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions.

  • Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies using small hand and/or power tools; soldering may be required.

  • Conduct final assembly of systems and accessories.

  • Test and troubleshoot subassemblies and final assemblies.

  • Collaborate with other Production Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve assembly process documentation to maintain high quality standards.

  • Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and validate released assembly/fabrication documentation.

  • Ensure work order protocols are followed and complete work order paperwork as work is performed.

  • Train other technicians to build products or follow established assembly processes.

  • Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure items meet high quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, and electronics assembly.

  • Proficiency in soldering, wiring, and schematic interpretation.

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.

  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Vocational training in Electronics or Solder Certification is preferred.

  • Experience with hand tools such as crimpers, tweezers, multimeters, drills, taps, torque wrenches, and power tools is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Safety and ESD practices is desired.

  • Competency in reading blueprints and schematics is desired.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees.

  • Receives little instruction on daily work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00
