As the Finance Business Partner – MPD you will be the lead business partner for Marketed Products Development (MPD) and will be part of the MPD leadership team. You will be empowered to work closely with the respective leadership teams (including Global Product Teams) as well as finance leaders of the corporate functions to support strategic planning and act as a thought partner to support decision making. This is a strategic global finance role within the Global Portfolio Division, reporting to the Head of Finance, GPLS, GM and Global Portfolio Support.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • The role requires frequent interaction with leaders within GPD and Globbal Medical (GM) as well as the regions, R&D and corporate finance team in Tokyo.

  • The person will be part of a small collaborative Finance team based in Zurich/Boston and is an excellent opportunity to work in very rich and diverse portfolio of brands/pipeline and springboard to other exciting finance career opportunities across Takeda.

  • The Finance Business plays a crucial role in Takeda by performing budgeting, forecasting, analysis and thought-partnering, thus supporting operational and strategic decisions. This individual utilizes both quantitative and qualitative analysis of operational and financial aspects in order to evaluate the company’s progress toward achieving its goals and business acumen to both identify and leverage opportunities and mitigate risks in collaboration with the leaders of MPD.

How you will contribute:

  • Report and analyze the trends of KPIs and performance drivers to evaluate and address implications for the future performance

  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and keep forecasts up to date

  • Close collaboration with the stakeholders to identify key risks and opportunities, come up with realization plans and mitigation strategies, and reflect all in financial forecasting

  • Discuss monthly and quarterly financial results with the stakeholders and, focusing on understanding and shaping full year landing

  • Support the respective leadership teams with data-driven analyses and thought partnering

  • Lead the forecasting (MRP, MYC, LBE) for MPD with cross-functional planning, consolidation, analysis and prioritization.

  • Take an active role in the BP&A community, connect with peers across the organization and together co-create solutions in line with and supporting the finance vision and roadmap

  • Support month end activiteis and reporting as required

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with corporate partners in GPD BP&A, TBS, and R&D, to ensure full understanding and support for MPD.

Special Projects:

  • Support implementation of global systems and process harmonization while promoting culture of “unleash the power of data and digital”

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of financial experience with a large organization, with a background in accounting, controlling, and/or finance

  • 3+ years of pharma experience, with a background in accounting, controlling, and/or finance; preferably understands R&D and/or commercialization

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix and multi-site organization

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work across multiple projects and assignments

  • Strong business acumen with both a strategic and technical financial mindset to help drive portfolio prioritization and agile resource allocation

  • Strong business partnering and leaderships skills with the ability to challenge performance, drive robust business decisions through sound financial analysis, questioning and problem-solving mindset

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous roles

  • Strong communicator with an ability to distill strategic finance messages or storylines effectively to peers and senior leadership

  • Able to manage a diverse workload, delivering projects across several teams, timelines, while maintaining flexibility to deal with change effectively

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and Takeda’s internal control framework

  • Good understanding interrelationships of the organization’s key business systems, data integrity, and related processes

  • Effective November 1, 2021, absent an approved religious or medical reason, all US office-based and lab-based Takeda employees who work fully on-site or in a hybrid model (as determined by Takeda) must be fully vaccinated to work at a Takeda site or to engage with Takeda colleagues or anyone else on behalf of Takeda. U.S. Base Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
