Google Technical Program Manager II, Embedded Systems, Pixel and Fitbit in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience managing projects.

  • Experience with software development or consumer electronics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience tracking and executing software deliverables and hardware variations.

  • Experience with algorithms.

  • Experience developing operational and product quality KPIs, with excellent technical, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to adapt and meet the needs of a changing and growing organization.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device software team is responsible for the core software running on Pixel watches. The team comprises software subsystems such as health and fitness algorithms. In this role, you will be involved with shaping wearable devices and services that showcase the potential of the platform.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Manage the software development life-cycle of embedded system software algorithm features.

  • Drive the planning and implementation of programs and features with the cross-functional teams to hit roadmap goals, track progress, analyze risks, resolve execution issues, and communicate status.

  • Develop and manage program schedules, technical challenges, and resource needs with engineering and cross-functional teams.

  • Support the team in promoting clear communication and making great decisions, manage communication of progress/ status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones, and own relationships between cross-functional teams.

  • Implement process improvements for product development, manage risks, and evaluate the multiple possible paths to success.
