Job Description:

L3Harris Corporation is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in its Camden, Arkansas facility. The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for classified information system(s) (IS). The ISSO shall ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with Cognizant Security Agency (CSA) approved IS security policies and procedures. The ISSO plays an active role in monitoring the system(s) and environment of operation, managing, and controlling changes to the system, and assessing the security impact of those changes to further advise the Information System Security Manager (SSM) and Facility Security Officer (FSO).

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

  • Obtain and maintain DoD 8570 baseline certification

  • Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package.

  • Ensuring audit records on multiple information system platforms are collected and analyzed in accordance with the approved security plan and discrepancies reported

  • Attending technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned compliance duties

  • Ensuring all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization and need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities prior to granting access to systems

  • Reporting all security-related incidents to the ISSM and/or FSO

  • Conducting continuous monitoring of environments to ensure compliance with security authorization packages

  • May serve as a compliance advisory member on the Configuration Control Board (CCB)

  • Coordinating and documenting changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with Information Technology (IT) and/or ISSM prior to the change

  • Notifying the ISSM when changes occur that might affect system authorization

  • Monitoring system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly

  • Ensuring all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals

  • Ensuring audit records are collected and analyzed in accordance with the security plan

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior information system security experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2+ years of prior information system security experience experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior information system security experience

  • 2+ years of experience working with information system security pronciples and practices

  • 2+ years of government compliance, regulations, and standards (NISPOM, DAAPM, RMF, JSIG, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DISA STIGS) with special emphasis on risk management framework (RMF) experience

    Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Active DoD 8570 baseline certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and/or Linux system administration (2+ years)

  • Knowledge of s ystem center configuration management (SCCM)

  • Knowledge of security content automation protocol (SCAP)

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels

  • Ability to prepare and present reports to management

  • Motivation and desire to thoroughly investigate, analyze, and document system issues and resolutions

  • Ability to produce quality deliverables and to complete assigned projects on time

  • Consistent attention to detail

  • Persistent and creative problem solver

  • Troubleshooting skills
