Army National Guard Units EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32) in Camp Blanding, Florida

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This National Guard position is for an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1257000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard. Responsibilities As an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1670-09, you will serve as a recognized authority on the repair and operation of various types of ARNG equipment. Provide instruction and assistance regarding equipment maintenance procedures, techniques, and methods as a part of the Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team (MAIT). Provide advice, assistance, and guidance regarding maintenance management systems, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices in maintenance facilities. Receive review, and process unit Army Material Status System (AMSS) reports and Missile Material Readiness reports and submit a consolidated report to the Logistics Support Activity (LOGSA). Prepare and conduct both classroom and on-the-job training designed to upgrade, improve, and/or update the knowledge and working skills of unit maintenance personnel. Develop, write, update, and teach units of instruction for new equipment training. Evaluate training progress in areas such as basic mechanic principles; theories of equipment repair and modification; compliance with established procedures and directives; requirements for equipment maintenance records and reports; and proper utilization of equipment, personnel, funds, and facilities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted/Warrant Officer; E1 thru CW4. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment. The experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology. A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment. Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications. Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and federal civilian or military personnel programs; which provided knowledge and skill in applying commonly used equipment, facility, or service principles and concepts; experience in the use of tools and test equipment; experience which provided knowledge of maintenance programs and techniques; experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design; experience in the use of tools and test equipment; experience developing, installing, inspecting, or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques. Education You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
