Thompson Health Health Unit Coordinator , Observation Unit in Canandaigua, New York

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the licensed nurses.

  • Perform basic nursing care tasks and supportive duties in the acute care setting.

  • Functions as the focal point of communication for the Observation Unit

  • Independently assures that all secretarial duties are carried out

  • Assures the efficiency of the unit by assisting in non-nursing ancillary duties

  • Responsible for order entry and any clerical support needed

  • Coordinates diagnostic testing and facilitates admissions to the floor

  • Acts as a liaison between the patient, their family, nursing staff and physicians

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • BLS certification required

  • Medical terminology & knowledge of EMR highly desirable

  • Previous clerical/receptionist experience in acute care

  • Nurse Aide Certificate or current experience in bedside care in a long term or acute health facility preferred

  • Good Communication skills and skilled in customer service

  • Reliability and flexibility

Pay Range: $18.64- $21.50

Starting Rate: Based on experience
