Thompson Health Physical Therapy Assistant , Skilled Nursing Facility - per diem in Canandaigua, New York

Description

Job Objective:

To provide physical therapy services to inpatients and outpatients by performing treatment programs as outlined by a Physical Therapist. The PT Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of he principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and to the care needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients in SNF setting on the weekends and as needed to cover vacations.

  • Documents care provided daily in patients’ medical record

  • Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of all physical therapy modalities available within the clinic

  • Monitors & documents in medical record the status of attainment of outlined goals and actively addresses problems with the PT

  • Handles all patients in a professional, productive manner.

  • Works as a team member with co-associates

  • Charges for patient services accurately and timely.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited PTA program Certified or licensed as PTA

  • Previous experience with acute care, orthopedics and aqua therapy preferred

Pay Range: $22.00-$28.00

Starting Rate: Based on experience
