FREMONT COUNTY Child Support Specialist I, II in CANON CITY, Colorado

POSITION: Child Support Specialist I, II

DUTIES: * Perform tasks relating to varied aspects of establishing and enforcing child support collections, including location, paternity establishment, collection methods, establishing and enforcing legal orders. * Knowledge of child support laws, rules and regulations. * Knowledge of court procedures, documents, legal terminology, methods of enforcement. * Knowledge of eligibility criteria and ADC rules and regulations. * Knowledge of collections methods. * Skills in interviewing, obtaining sensitive information. * Ability to gather documentation, determine best methods to use in working case, and enforcing child support orders. * Ability to analyze information, prioritize, plan and organize workload and meet deadlines. * Ability to prepare correspondence. * Ability to effectively communicate with client, legal systems and the public. * Ability to work with hostile or distraught clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

Level I: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. Six (6) months full time, paid or unpaid, experience involving extensive public contact.

Substitutions: Satisfactory completion of appropriate course work obtained beyond high school may substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis.

Level II: Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. Two (2) years full time responsible office clerical or extensive public contact experience for more advanced position.

Substitutions: Successful completion of an associate s degree or bachelor s degree in business, behavioral science, or appropriately related field may substitute for the required experience on a year for year bas

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid Colorado driver's license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and liability insurance must be on file at all times.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screening.

WAGE: $18.92 $20.44/ Hourly

SHIFTS: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

JOB SITE: Canon City, CO
