Rocky Mountain Children's Discovery Center is a small business in Canon City, CO. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to meet the needs of all families and children in our care. Children come first we provide a safe and healthy environment for all of our families and staff.

• Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
• Provide individualized attention and support to each child
• Collaborate with parents and communicate regularly about their child's dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen

• Follow all health and safety guidelines

• Follow the USDA Colorado Adult and Child Food Program guidelines

• Creating monthly menus to meet the USDA CACFP guidelines.

• Fill out weekly and monthly paperwork

• Weekly and monthly food ordering and putting order away.

• Attending events that include the kitchen

Experience: - Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting - Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices - Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledgable about healthy meals

-Kitchen experience is helpful but not required

-Cooking meals for a 100 children.

Skills: - Catering: Ability to cater to the individual needs of each child in the classroom - Dietary department: Understanding of dietary requirements and restrictions for young children - Menu planning: Proficiency in creating balanced and nutritious menus for meals and snacks - Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to ensure the health and well-being of children - Restaurant: Experience working in a restaurant or food service setting, with an understanding of kitchen operations - Food handling: Ability to safely handle food, including using knives for meal preparation - Meal preparation: Skill in preparing meals that are both nutritious and appealing to young children - Cook: Ability to cook a variety of dishes, including those suitable for young children
