ABOUT THE POSITION

$10,000 Hiring Bonus: $2,500 at commencement of employment, $2,500 after successful completion of Field Training Program and $5,000 after one year of service post Field Training.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties for the Ca on City Police Department, to maintain public order, and to assist and protect the lives and property of Canon City residents, business owners, and visitors.

Applicants should have Three (3) years of experience as Police Officer I in the Canon City Police Department (CCPD), or One (1) year of experience with CCPD and Three (3) years of experience with another law enforcement agency, or Five (5) years of experience with another law enforcement agency.

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and 21 years of age at the time of swearing in. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and must have a valid Colorado Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one within sixty (60) days of hire, with a driving record acceptable to the City of Ca on City. Applicants must be a Certified Colorado Police Officer.

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.
