Key responsibilities for this role include:

The Director, Global Transfer Pricing Operations will report to the Head of Global Tax Strategy and Risk Management and be apart of the Global Transfer Pricing Group at Viatris.

Assists in the development of arm's length pricing for intercompany transactions involving tangible goods, services, intangible property, and financial transactions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze and evaluate tax implications.

Conducts end-to-end legal entity profitability reviews to ensure the global allocation of profit is in-line with global strategies and expectations. This entails working with large data sets across multiple systems and assembling profit/loss statements that are presented in a streamlined format. It involves close collaboration with finance teams and local operations to identify anomalies and/or other driving factors that deviate from expected statutory results. Becomes a trusted, primary point of contact to answer transfer pricing queries from non-tax colleagues and assumes ownership of initiating and making transfer pricing related adjustments.

Evaluates global recharges for non-product specific intercompany transactions and assists in the development, maintenance, and governance of these charges. As new intercompany charges are added, a holistic review, evaluation, and implementation will be assumed by the successful candidate.

Collaborates with other groups to harmonize tax planning strategies with product-level transfer prices to be implemented on a product-by-product basis, with careful consideration given to downstream impacts including variances, FX, tax, PII, and other P&L line-item details. Acts as an agent of change for transfer pricing adjustments and clearly communicates the position to various stakeholders.

Closely partners with Global Tax Operations to connect the legal entity forecast process with profitability reviews, effective tax rate calculations, uncertain tax positions, and certain international tax concepts such as BEAT, FDII, and GILTI. Performs root-cause analyses on deviations and product-level impacts resulting from changes to transfer prices, volumes, and/or external pricing. Provides relevant suggestions and charts a course of action to remediate issues.

Over time, develop process improvements and protocols that will facilitate efficiency and automation through the use of sophisticated techniques and advanced technology.

Participates and leads discussions around the implementation of ERP (i.e., SAP) and associated systems, as it pertains to intercompany pricing and transfer pricing solutions. Considers end-to-end ramifications and proactively identifies any long-term design solutions that are favorable to include for optimizing transfer pricing operations.

Provides ad-hoc support as it pertains to complex data modeling, data mining, financial analysis, audit and controversy, and complex intercompany financing arrangements. Works collaboratively with consultants, auditors, tax authorities and other advisors to fulfill requests, as needed.

Performs other duties related to operational transfer pricing, as assigned.

The minimum qualifications for this r le are:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, computer science and/or engineering, is required. An advanced degree strongly preferred. Related experience and/or education may be considered.

8 to 12 years of progressive experience within the transfer pricing discipline at a multinational corporation and/or global accounting firm (i.e., Big 4). Greater consideration will be given to candidates that demonstrate specific experience with operational transfer pricing (i.e., setting TPs, adjusting TPs, legal entity forecasting, year-end TP adjustments, costing, manufacturing variances, PII, etc.).

Proven track record of working closely with various groups within a corporate structure including treasury, finance, legal, operations, etc.

Proven ability to use, manipulate, extract, and/or trouble-shoot data within ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc. with the ability of subsequently preparing complex financial modeling using higher-level Excel functionalities with system-generated data.

Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation, project management, and business development skills.

Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, be willing and able to manage multiple projects with varying deliverables and work well as a team partner in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Strong track record of problem solving and strategic/creative thinking skills.

Experience with leading and mentoring staff, as well as developing strong relationships with non-tax business personnel. It is intended that this position would manage at least one direct report.

This role will have hybrid flexibility and may require periodic travel.

Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is  $112,000 - $236,000.
