ANSYS, Inc. R&D Verification Engineer II in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

ANSYS, Inc. seeks R&D Verification Engineer II to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations. Work as part of the Electronics Business Unit to conduct software testing of ANSYS simulation software applications such as Maxwell 2D/3D. Assess how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensure that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. Work closely with other members of the product creation team and communicate with technical specialists on product issues. Specify and write test cases, create, modify, and update existing tests, and maintain test scripts. Perform functional, application, regression, and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems. Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics. Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company's overall development and testing processes. Work in a variety of computing environments such as Windows, Linux, Virtual Machines, Compute Clusters, and Cloud.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.  Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position. 

Work experience or academic coursework must have included: technical knowledge and experience with electromagnetic analysis from DC to high frequency, electric motors, PCBs, Antennas, power electronics, and thermal analysis; technical knowledge and experience with the Ansys product portfolio, specifically Ansys Electronics Desktop; knowledge and experience of programming and scripting language: Python; and technical knowledge and experience with Finite element method, domain decomposition method and time decomposition method, with Ansys-HFSS and Maxwell.

This is a telecommute work at home opportunity.  The applicant must be willing to reside within a reasonable commuting distance to an ANSYS office within the United States to work in the office at least one day per week.
