As a Maintenance Technician II at Ohio Gratings, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our machinery and equipment are running efficiently and safely. What You'll Do:

  • Ensure optimal equipment performance by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions by observing equipment in operation, using precision tools, and following detailed diagrams, sketches, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime, provide routine maintenance tips, and ensure equipment compliance.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by fabricating repair parts and installing new equipment when necessary.
  • Document your work by preparing reports and communicating effectively with colleagues across shifts.
  • Promote safety by maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Measure and test parts using calipers, micrometers, and other instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Assist in installing new manufacturing equipment and machine control systems.
  • Record preventive maintenance tasks in our ERP system (EPICOR) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work closely with other team members to document actions and continue to improve maintenance processes.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and enhance your technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing technical publications.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training is a plus.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (480V), including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with metal fabrication, cranes, lift trucks, and PLC/CNC.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using precision tools such as dial calipers and micrometers.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with team members.
