Goodwill of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohi Vice President of Marketing and Development in Canton, Ohio

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio seeks a dynamic leader for Vice President of Marketing and Development at their corporate office in Canton, Ohio.

This role will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for marketing, fund development, public relations, and community campus relations. You will work in concert with the COO and other leadership team members to develop and guide strategic direction, develop tactical plans, and assist in leading the agency. As a leadership team member, you will participate in meetings of the Board of Directors and various Board Committees. Responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching direct reports in marketing, fund development, public relations, and community campus relations. You will also be responsible for operating effectively across functional boundaries, and building and sustaining external and internal relationships.

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Public Relations and Marketing, plus comprehensive knowledge of media, community resources, social service organizations, and fund development.

  • Ability to effectively manage activities in geographically dispersed locations.

  • Understand all operations of the departments under his/her direction.

  • Express ideas using words in developing policies/programs or supervising the work of others.

  • Define and analyze problems and draw valid conclusions.

  • Use knowledge, experience, and personal judgment to make decisions and solve problems. Make decisions using standards that can be measured or checked.

  • Plan and direct the work of others. Provide strategic oversight to departments under his/ her direction.

  • Deal with people effectively. Influence people's opinions, attitudes, and judgments positively.

    Basic Requirements:

  • BA degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing preferred .

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider and have valid automotive insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance.

  • Requires travel from time to time throughout Goodwill's assigned territory.

  • Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to inside, sedentary work; frequent forward, horizontal reach at desk; occasional standing, stair climbing, stooping/bending; lift/carry up to 20 pounds and walk approximately 60 feet; infrequent crouching/squatting.
