Description of Work:  As part of your responsibilities in this position, you will be in charge of the upkeep of state-owned buildings, which involves tasks such as painting, repairing, and cleaning. You will also be responsible for maintaining picnic areas by mowing the grass, collecting garbage, repairing and replacing tables, and cleaning restrooms. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the maintenance of recreational facilities, including the Pine Creek Trail. Minor repairs to state-owned equipment and routine maintenance will also be within your scope of work. It will be crucial for you to ensure that state forest roads are well maintained to provide a smooth experience for visitors. Additionally, you will play a vital role in fire protection by promptly responding to wildfires and providing assistance as needed by the District Prevention Program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: This is a seasonal, full-time position without benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay. Work hours are Monday - Wednesday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Thursday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Some travel required. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications:  Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Conditions of Employment: This position will require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
