ASRC Federal Holding Company Sheet Metal Worker in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Under general supervision and working from verbal information, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and applicable national state, and municipal specification, codes and ordinances perform physical sheet metal work.

  • Independently perform installation, construction/fabrication, modification, assembly, repair, fit check, cutting, forming of sheet metal, plastic, and other material compositions required for the manufacturing and/or installation of ducts, pipes, louvers, boxes, defusers, shields, deflectors, trays, screens, frames, braces, handrails, doors, including sheet metal layouts where no true view exists. Perform any work assigned to the employees in the classification. Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignment.

  • Obtain necessary measurements for sheet metal work to be performed from blueprints, charts, and sketches, verbal information or by taking measurements at actual point of installation and apply a thorough knowledge of sheet metal shop theory, practices, and procedures. Set up and operate all cutting, fabricating, and forming machines, and tools, such as shears, brakes, bending rods, punch and drill presses, grinders, buffers, files and all other tools required. Maintain logs, records, charts, etc., as required. Perform functional and operational tests of sheet metal installations, assemblies and parts.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal State, local, NASA and Space Force laws and regulations and requirements and energy management/conservation regulations, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.

Requirements :

Educational/Training Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Trade school and/or Military training preferred

  • Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc. required for the performance of assigned task

Skill Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Requires seven (7) years’ industrial or commercial sheet metal experience

  • Journeyman’s License or Florida Contractors License preferred

  • Valid FL Driver License in good standing

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs and databases, MAXIMO experience a plus

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. US Citizenship is necessary for obtaining a clearance.

Work Environment:

Office and field work. Use of related equipment, tools & computer.

Physical Demands:

Capable of working on ladders >6’, and able to carry up to 50 lbs unassisted. Capable of safely working at heights & able to operate man-lifts and other equipment. Capable of operating machinery and vehicles including forklifts. Walking, standing, bending, etc.
