Project Engineer

Our client, a manufacturer with a very diverse vacuum pumps and compressor line, is currently hiring a Project Engineer. This is a new role created to replace existing in-house Engineer (Engineer with over 40 yr. tenure that is retiring). This position is an ideal career opportunity, a home, for the right person with strong Cad Skills, Product Development and Project Management. Position is a Direct Hire, located at client's home office in Sherrill, New York.

Job Overview:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

This role requires a dynamic individual who can work closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes, develop new products, and serve as the technical expert on our products, providing support to customers, sales teams, and internal departments.

This role involves understanding customer needs, developing customized solutions, assisting in product selection, and ensuring successful implementation and integration of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, strong Cad Design skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Design and Innovation: Be instrumental in ensuring products maintain the high standards of quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness expected by clients. Collaborate closely with our team of craftsmen and other departments to innovate and enhance our product offerings, meeting the evolving needs of our customers in various industrial and agricultural sectors.

Develop new product designs and enhancements for existing products, focusing on vacuum pumps, compressors, dairy equipment, aeration systems, and other related products.

Create and/or verify detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing processes.

Leverage innovative design principles to improve product durability, modularity, and ease of maintenance, aligning with Westmoor’s commitment to built-in dependability.

Project Management: Lead and manage product development projects from concept through to production, ensuring deadlines and cost targets are achieved.

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality materials and components, ensuring they meet standards.

Technical Support and Customer Interaction: Provide technical expertise and support to customers, helping them select, configure, and implement products.

Respond to customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions in a timely and professional manner.

Work closely with customers to understand their unique requirements and develop tailored solutions to meet their needs.

Post-Sales Support and Training: Provide ongoing support to customers after product delivery, including troubleshooting, training, and technical advice.

Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in product design and development, preferably within the industrial, agricultural, or/or mechanical equipment sectors.

Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.

Strong understanding of vacuum systems, compressors, and other mechanical components. (preferred).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
