Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers -22degrees, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Office, Rapid flashing lights, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Position Summary

Become a Sr. Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician in Carlsbad. Work with a hard-working team to maintain and improve our automated production equipment. Collaborate with machine owners and operators to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety compliance with regulations and industry standards

  • Identify and accurately address unsafe conditions related to mechanical safety, electrical safety, shielding, and guarding

  • Complete safety review checklists for new and modified equipment

  • Adhere strictly to site safety procedures, including lock-out-tag-out

Operations Support

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime

  • Ensure spare parts are readily available

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and adjust as needed

  • Train and mentor production associates

  • Update equipment-related SOPs

New Equipment

  • Specify and procure new production equipment

  • Perform factory-acceptance-tests and installations

  • Establish spare parts and maintenance requirements

  • Complete safety reviews for new equipment

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement cost-saving and quality improvement measures

  • Participate in site continuous improvement activities like PPI and Lean

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree in a related field

  • Proficiency in electrical, electronics, and controls technologies

  • Experience with automated production equipment

  • Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of industrial automation

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical systems and industrial automation

  • Knowledge of practices and techniques in general construction, repair and maintenance in a commercial environment

  • Experience with equipment design, specifications, fabrication, installation, and validation

  • Strong mechanical skills including the ability to perform mechanical disassembly, repairs, and reassembly of complicated equipment

Communication

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in PC applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including offices, laboratories, and production areas

Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $24.00/hr - $36.00/hr.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
