Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aHuman Resources Administrative Assistantto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will maintain files, records (including personnel files), and documentation (including sensitive and proprietary information/data). Must maintain confidentiality of information. Create or generate special or routine Human Resources reports. Perform duties such as travel arrangements, expense reports, correspondence, accountability, tracking and scheduling. Candidate will act as Records Coordinator and Property Administrator for the department. Evaluate information, data, input, and similar items for completeness, accuracy, and suitability to assure agreement with standards and procedures. Take appropriate corrective action as necessary. Establish priorities and schedules to accomplish routine and special tasks. Answer and initiate appropriate action in response to routine requests within HR not requiring management attention. Preparation of various administrative elements for other employees within department and assure accuracy and completeness to include employment verifications. Maintain knowledge of computer systems, databases, online interfaces, networks, operational standards and reporting processes. Frequent interface with employees from all departments, including senior management. Coordination and teamwork with other site and HR administrative assistants/personnel, and SIMCO departments will be required on special and routine assigned tasks.

Serve as the initial point of contact, greet individuals, in the SIMCO HR office area. Be the primary provider for daily access services to escort uncleared contractors and visitors into designated authorized areas. Will be become fully qualified as an office warden. Must be able to work in a fast-paced diverse environment. Complete purchasing duties to include p-card and requistioner assignments. Excellent customer service and teamwork skills are a must.

The position is not a telework nor remote work position.

Non-Exempt Grade Levels (24-28)

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

  • Associate's degree with two (2) years of administrative experience, or

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of administrative experience is required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in a front desk, visitor greeter, customer service-centered role highly desired.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field is preferred.

  • Two (2) years of experience in HR administrative functions is desired.

  • Experience or training in procurement of goods and services, performing office warden duties, and coordinating training would be a plus.

Minimum salary $52,255 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
