Carlsbad Lifehouse, Inc., a leading provider of mental health services in Carlsbad, New Mexico, seeks a qualified and compassionate Primary Care Provider (PCP) to join our esteemed team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population, including members of the general public and residents of our Lifehouse residential and sober living programs. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans encompassing preventive care, medication management, and referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Educate patients on disease management, healthy lifestyle choices, and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, other healthcare providers, and Lifehouse residential and sober living staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to staying current on the latest evidence-based practices in primary care medicine.

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) license, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in Family Practice (CNP), or Physician Assistant (PA) certification.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice in the state of New Mexico.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a primary care setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in history taking, physical examination, and diagnosis.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Patient-centered approach to care with a focus on building rapport and trust.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems.
