Salary Range : $112,900 - $169,300 Annual

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible.

Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company is seeking a Program Manager, Worksite responsible for directing and managing the largest and most complex multi-year projects, typically up to $5M in scope. The ideal candidate has mastered multiple project methodologies (Waterfall, Lean/Six Sigma, Agile, or hybrids) to direct and deliver programs and projects that are aligned with broader Functional objectives. This role oversees projects involving large cross-functional teams. The Program Manager, Worksite is highly visible to the Executive leadership and is recognized across the CNO organization for thought leadership.

As a Program Manager, Worksite your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for the leadership, management, and direction of the largest and most complex/visible projects at Optavise, with budgets of typically up to $5M (and possibly more) and has a high impact to the organization.

  • Serve as a recognized expert and advisor across the organization.

  • Provide leadership and vision to program resources and stakeholders; demonstrate how to effectively execute and deliver on strategy. Provide responsibility and guidance for meeting the overall strategic and business goals of the organization.

  • Maintain an observant view of the organization and a general view of each project to ensure convergence on objectives.

  • Lead multiple projects and is highly effective at resource planning and engagement of resource and vendor management in defining staffing needs and providing feedback to build and maintain a high performing team.

  • Define program charters, scope, objectives, success metrics and key milestones.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provides escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. Identify potential (positive/negative) risks and applicable contingencies plans.

  • Effectively coordinate project implementations across teams using very different approaches. Develops and manages communication plans.

  • Provide continuous alignment of program scope with business objectives and make recommendations to modify programs and projects to enhance effectiveness toward the business result and business area intent.

  • Develop and lead executive-level steering committees which results in significant influence & impact on the CNO enterprise.

  • Direct internal/external consultants to upgrade, re-build and/or re-design programs using innovative business solutions.

  • Establish and facilitate appropriate governance frameworks including but not limited to: steering committees, change control, prioritization, as well as escalation and issue resolution processes.

  • Negotiate and deliver resource commitments between departments and teams.

  • Conduct complex process mappings, recommend and execute process improvements, and manage Agile/sprint-based implementations. Develop plans to address complex risks and issues; recommend solutions and best practices for PMO.

  • Work with broad and high limits of authority to deliver and execute resource commitments between teams and departments. Manage large internal and external resource requirements with competing demands and cross-functional intersections on the largest and most complex sized projects.

  • Frequently engage with executives to provide program oversight; provide input on large financial decisions.

  • Request and review proposals; negotiate and process contracts.

  • Interact/influence across all levels of management. Delegate authority and empower others as appropriate.

The Program Manager, Worksite position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Master multiple project management methodologies, including but not limited to Agile, Lean (PDCA, DMAIC, Kaizen), Six Sigma, and Waterfall.

  • Apply in-depth expertise of project management principles across Operations and other CNO functions.

  • Utilize solid knowledge of best practices and industry standards to ensure optimal program performance and end results.

  • Solve the most complex and unique operational problems by recommending solutions and best practices.

  • Communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written skills to influence a wide range of internal audiences across the organization, frequently at senior levels.

  • Lead and coach others with strong ability.

  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills by remaining flexible to changing priorities and being open to new ideas, keeping CNO’s success firmly in focus.

  • Leverage strong knowledge and experience with Innotas/Project Server or similar tools.

  • Employ strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and other business-related software.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Operations, or other related field is required; or 8 years of equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of related experience, with proven project management experience on large and complex projects. PMP, Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt, and/or Agile/Scrum Master certifications

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.

All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
