About the Role

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Department and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Decostar as described below:

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal, external customers and suppliers.

Who we are looking for

  • Ensure suppliers successfully launch incoming purchased components and their quality expectations maintained throughout production as to meet or surpass quality levels according to design and customer requirements.

  • Communicate to suppliers the SQM and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements to meet successful supplier launces, and in turn, compliance with the Decostar Control Plan and PPAP requirements of Decostar customers.

  • Review and approve supplier PPAP’s and trial runs & initiate plans for corrective action as required.

  • Investigate all assembly component issues, both in receiving or production, and root cause against supplier’s latest PPAP and design documentation. Sort materials as required.

  • Communicate with suppliers and internal customers on product quality concerns and initiate follow up activities on non-conforming items. Document and recover all cost impacts to Decostar.

  • Visit suppliers to address quality spills during production and ensure effective corrective actions are requested, and implemented throughout the process flow.

  • Weekly/monthly tracking, updating, and reporting of the supplier performance reports for each subcomponent suppliers and their summary via the QPF system.

  • Perform job duties within the guidelines of the Decostar Supplier Quality Manual and IATF16949 standards

  • Perform other duties as directed.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Ability to travel within and outside of the U.S. if required. Must have Passport.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in quality assurance required with supervisory experience.

  • Must possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet), Word (word processing), and preference to Access (data basing).

  • Prior experience with IATF-16949 is preferred. Ability to become certified with IATF - 16949

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel / Management is required.

  • Knowledge of AIAG core tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, etc. Proficient in problem solving and root cause analysis.

  • Knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding and known defects found during molding process.

  • GD&T knowledge

  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers providing various components.

  • Bachelor’s degree or CQE preferred.

  • Equivalent work experience will be considered.
