Job Title: Software Engineering LeadJob Description

This position requires an individual with over 5 years of experience in the industry. Candidates should have advanced knowledge of products and outside vendor hardware, a deep understanding of HVAC, access or other building or electronic control systems, and software applications. This role is for top-performing team members who could be future Engineering or Software Managers. As the team grows, the Software Engineering Lead provides crucial supervision to enhance team development and performance. Responsibilities include providing daily hands-on supervision of new team members, offering technical guidance and support, assisting the Engineering Manager with performance and training goals, coordinating work, managing resources, and reporting on team progress and performance. The role also involves participating in national engineering steering committee meetings, expert engineering panels, and beta product reviews. The Software Engineering Lead will engage in weekly workload discussions, assist with software standards deployment and usage, attend customer and internal meetings, perform high-level programming, provide guidance on strategic competitive sales strategies, represent SD during bid/proposal/project reviews, and conduct peer reviews of software developed by team members.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Carrollton, Texas and some days remote.

Work Environment

The Software Engineering Lead works under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager or Operations Manager and is responsible for mentoring and leading team members, especially in the absence of the Engineering Manager.
