Robert Half GL Accountant in Carson, California

Description We are seeking a GL Accountant to join our team based in Carson, California. The position is within the Non-Profit industry and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The GL Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the preparation of journal entries, reviewing incoming cash receipts, and coordinating monthly grant revenue recognition.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries for assigned funds and intercompany general journals.

• Oversee and verify general ledger coding for incoming cash receipts and accounts payable batches.

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing; distribute monthly financial statements and other required reports by the applicable deadline.

• Collaborate with corps personnel for accurate monthly grant revenue recognition, accrual, billing, and reporting.

• Manage balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.

• Serve as a liaison between Finance and Corps serviced related to Accounts Payable, Cash receipts, and reporting.

• Track and review capital projects and deferred maintenance projects.

• Train field personnel on TSA policy and procedures, ensuring adherence.

• Oversee the maintenance of Custodian accounts.

• Assist in the preparation of internal and external audit schedules.

• Work on projects and research related to assigned Corps.

• Provide backup for other accountants when required.

• Perform any other duties that may be assigned. Requirements • Must have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Knowledge of General Ledger and ability to maintain it regularly

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for accounting tasks

• Must have a solid understanding of non-profit accounting principles and regulations

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
