Grant County Administrative Assistant in CARSON, North Dakota

This position requires some knowledge or familiarization of Word, Excel, Outlook, typing, internet use, and other clerical procedures. This prospective employee will learn the use of law enforcement databases, along with dispatching on-duty deputies along with the Sheriff when calls come in to the Sheriffs Office non-emergency phone line. The individual has daily contact with the public.

The primary duty of the Administrative Assistant will involve civil process paperwork. This position will also involve performing various other duties related to the Sheriffs Office to include keeping personal files up to date, preparing daily correspondence, compiling information for reports, maintaining files for a variety of records, documents and correspondence. Due to the nature of working within the law enforcement field, the employee must exercise the utmost discretion, independent judgment and initiative in completing assignments and keeping the office running smoothly. This position also requires working closely with other county departments within the court house.

Prior experience working within law enforcement field, local or county government, or other office work is preferred but is not required. High School Diploma or GED required. This position is not a sworn law enforcement position and does not entail the duties of a licensed peace officer.
