We, at Leggett and Platt Inc., are searching for a Benefits Plan Analyst within our Benefit Compliance and Integrationteam to help support our Qualified Benefits group. As a Benefits Plan Analyst you will have the opportunity to interact with many different branch coordinators and internal employees. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by maintaining benefit compliance to avoid monetary corrections. The team you will be working with is team-oriented and fun, and values the independent work the position allows.

So, what will you be doing as a Benefits Plan Analyst?

  • Provide support to the Sr. Benefit Compliance and Integration staff through follow-up work with branches, creation, and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases
  • Identification of rehired employees, determination of benefits for transfers, calculating and providing support for audit testing and grossed up pay, providing compliance oversight and audits for plans
  • Collecting and calculating asset figures and participation levels as well as reporting plan counts, compliance activity, and explaining any variances of at least 10% in the Qualified Benefits section of quarterly reports to management
  • Preparing letters to beneficiaries upon an active or former employees death and obtaining documents needed for beneficiary splits of participants account(s)
  • Providing oversight and assistance in preparation of acquisition materials
  • Tracking and reporting fidelity and fiduciary bond coverage amounts
  • Collecting information needed for marking the pension box on IRS Forms W-2
  • Maintaining the system for tracking/reporting rehires and transfers
  • Attempting to locate and verify addresses for lost participants
  • Placing/receiving calls to branch benefit coordinators, employees, plan administrators, recordkeepers and attorneys

To be successful in this role, youll need:

  • Strong MS Office experience
  • Ability to understand and read legal documents and assist in administration of plans accordingly
  • 1-3 years of previous office experience desired
  • 2 years business degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to think analytically, work independently and adapt to change
  • Be attentive to details and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Positive attitude and a cooperative aptitude
