We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

There is one position available that will be filled at either the Programmer Analyst or Senior Programmer Analyst level, commensurate with the selected candidates' skills and abilities.

Dominion Energy’s Information Technology department is currently seeking a dynamic, detail oriented, Programmer Analyst/Senior Programmer Analyst to support business applications in Customer Operations area. The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction in a multi tasked environment. Ability to quickly understand the business needs and be creative in providing solutions to support long term goals of the company will be a plus. Responsibilities include support, maintenance, and enhancements of different functions related to the Customer Information System and integrations in a cost-effective manner. Weekend and after-hour work will occasionally be required. The successful candidate will be required to carry a company provided cell phone and take part in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Programmer Analyst: 3 years related experience

Senior Programmer Analyst: 5 years related experience

All levels -

• Successful candidate will have extensive software development experience and knowledge/understanding of IT principles and development practices.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Development Tools: DevOps, Visual Studio is required.

• Development experience in Micro Focus/Mainframe COBOL and JCL is required.

• Experience in relational database (SQL Server is preferred) design is required.

• Development experience using .Net technologies such as C#, WPF, WCF and APIs is a plus.

• Experience and understanding of operational processes in utility domain (metering, service orders, billing, account receivables, payment processing and credit functions) is a plus.

• Must be able to work in a professional team environment with limited direct supervision.

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Other Education: Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems.

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
