CRST has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Talent Program within our summer internship program as an Operations Intern within our Dedicated Solutions division. CRST's Dedicated Solutions team engineers' data-driven transportation solutions that maximize speed, efficiency and value to meet customers’ supply chain needs. For every customer, we leverage modeling software and state-of-the-art systems to engineer, price and manage dedicated fleets that achieve customer goals while seeking continuous improvements in costs and productivity. Our team of 4,000+ drivers utilize more than 9,000 assets – including dry van, flatbed, heavy haul and validated reefers – to effectively and securely serve a wide variety of markets, from health sciences and grocery to building products and e-commerce.

Here is what you can expect:

  • Opportunity to build a base of operational knowledge and exposure to company processes & gain experience in the day-to-day operations of CRST. 

  • Learn and execute basic transportation management practices. 

  • Assist in creating efficient & effective utilization of company assets & equipment. 

  • Work with numerous different departments and develop effective communication skills.

The Summer Internship Program is where students are exposed to the transportation industry, engaged in real-world problem-solving, and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns and leaders across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with different business entities to accomplish company objectives and goals.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • Pursuing a business-related 4-year bachelor’s degree from accredited university 

  • Sophomore - Junior-level college student pursuing a degree within Business, Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance or a similar field  

  • Minimum 2.5 or above GPA 

  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and loyalty 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills 

  • Has strong aspirations for future success in business or management 

  • Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership  

  • Prior coursework, internship, or work experience preferred, but not required

  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve effectively. 

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel. 

  • Basic oral and written communication skills 

  • Maximizes relationships, fosters collaboration, and builds trust 

Here is some other helpful information:

  • Housing assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility requirements and are ready to really immerse themselves in a summer of Cedar Rapids FUN!

  • Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate courses at least the fall semester following the summer internship.

  • Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within CRST upon graduation with additional benefits.
