BAE Systems Principal Analyst, International Trade Compliance (Hybrid) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Job Description

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a *hybrid work format , with time split between working on-site at our Cedar Rapids, IA offices , and remotely. The Principal Analyst, International Trade Compliance will lead all aspects of export/import compliance for a product line within the Electronic Systems (ES) sector. This position reports to the Senior Manager, International Trade Compliance, for the applicable business area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages ITAR and EAR license applications, technical assistance agreements, exemptions, and exceptions. Prepares, submits, and administers required export/import authorizations. Coordinates exports and imports in accordance with BAE Systems policy and U.S. Government export regulations and laws.

  • Coordinates with program personnel to obtain export/import application information, reviews provisos/riders on licenses and agreements to ensure business and customer requirements can be met by the license or agreement, determines product jurisdiction/classification, and accomplishes regulatory requirements related to authorizations.

  • Approves foreign travel and foreign visitors.

  • Participates in the investigation of any aspect of proposed export or temporary export by the Company to verify the legality of any transactions and the accuracy of the information to be submitted.

  • Participates in the development and presentation of export related training materials.

  • Provides BAE Systems and/or government agencies with any required assistance or information needed during the review of a license application.

  • Maintains export-related recordkeeping functions for the Company as required by law.

  • Participates in internal compliance audits on a periodic basis.

  • Continually develops knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations by attending seminars and conferences, participating in BAE Systems training, and keeping abreast of proposed and final regulatory changes.

  • Supports the business area and senior manager in addressing and resolving export issues as they arise.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 6 Years with Bachelor's Degree, 4 Years with Master s Degree.

  • Applicant must have strong knowledge of the Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

  • Applicant must be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be well organized.

  • Current Empowered Official

  • Experience with OCR's EASE global trade management software .

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $87700 - $149100

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
