BAE Systems is looking for an experienced EMI Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for designing, developing, and testing of industry-leading navigation products.

In our Navigation & Sensor Solutions Hardware Engineering department located at a newly constructed facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, you will become part of an Engineering Team testing Modernized M-Code GPS Receivers for defense programs. The team is responsible for overseeing internal lab activities, coordinating new and existing EMI/EMC design efforts, mentoring Design Teams in EMI/EMC best practices and provides coordination for off-site qualification testing efforts. This engineering team works closely with all the Hardware Engineering teams at NSS and the external test labs.

Our team is looking for a new member interested in solving complex problems and creatively designing advanced and alternative navigation systems. This individual will execute onsite EMI testing and provide EMI design direction for GPS products. The successful electrical engineering candidate will have experience with EMI testing, understanding of EMI/EMC best practices and be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additional responsibilities may include electrical engineering design and development of GPS products.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with EMI/EMC test and troubleshooting

  • Experience with EMI/EMC test equipment and filtering

  • Ability to generate EMI control plans, EMI test guidelines, EMI test procedures and EMI test reports

  • Time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work

  • Experience with hardware requirements capture, electrical design, and testing of electronics and circuits

  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 6 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Previous EMI Lab experience.

  • Ability to define and implement EMI/EMC requirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI/EMC/EME/ESD/EMP and lightning.

  • Experience in performing radiated and emitted analyses, and working with Zuken EMC Adviser tool or equivalent analytical EMC/EMI tool

  • Understanding of MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704 test procedures and methods

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
