POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of your job is to provide quality care as a member of the Respiratory Team.  You will develop and ensure the resident care plan is followed in collaboration with the Director of Respiratory, Physicians, nurses, other therapists, and nursing assistants.  Delivery of care will be in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established standards of practice set forth by Nursing and Respiratory Policies and Procedures, that govern the community to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times. 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist within the state in which you work.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved respiratory program.
  • Must maintain a current BLS, through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community leadership in the performance of duties.
  • Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
  • Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or long-term care is preferred, but not required.
