Amergis School Psychology Assistant/ Psychometrist in Centralia, Washington
$28 - $35 / hr
The job of School Psychometrist is done for the purpose/s ofand under the direction of the school psychologist. The Psychometrist administers and scorespsychological and social/behavioral tests and may assist the psychologist intest interpretation and summaries, and data collection. Collaborates with interventional teams totroubleshoot and answer follow-up questions about recommendations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers standardized and/or supplemental assessments forthe purpose of measuring the intellectual, adaptive, academic, social andemotional development of children and makes recommendations for services incompliance with regulatory requirements
Assists with the development of behavior plans, curriculummodifications, etc. for the purpose of implementing programs
Assists in the preparation of a wide variety of writtenmaterials (e.g. extension requests, correspondence, memos, behavior plans,reports, required documentation, summaries of test interpretation, etc.) forthe purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/orconveying information
Assists in the assessment of students' functionalcapabilities in the classroom for the purpose of determining a student'sfunctional level
Compiles information from a variety of sources (e.g.teachers, nurse, mental health agencies, other professionals, etc.) for thepurpose of producing a summary for the comprehensive evaluation report incompliance with established guidelines
Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assignedfor the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to performfunctions
Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention andtreatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.)for the purpose of determining the approaches for addressing students'functional goals
Supports school psychologists for the purpose ofimplementing recommended interventions
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, mathematics, statistics orrelated field
Certification where required by state, contract orfacility
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
