The Pavilion Behavioral Health System includes a 110 bed inpatient hospital, a residential treatment center for youth and a residential addictions treatment program. Outpatient services include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services, as well as The Pavilion Foundation School, a private day school serving students with learning disabilities and behavior disorders. The Pavilion is located in Champaign, IL, within minutes of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all admissions processes and serve as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, and hospital personnel involved with each admission

  • Process inquiry and referral calls and respond to request for hospital and program information, assessment, and possible admission

  • Verify insurance, triage patients, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient

  • Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, staff, and referral sources

    Qualifications

    Requirements

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in state of Illinois

  • Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.

  • Other: Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities. Thorough knowledge of psychiatric services provided by the hospital. Ability to work flexible hours. Requires a basic understanding of computers; and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payors. Knowledge of precertification for inpatient hospitalization. Experience gathering and documenting medical and clinical information to assess and staff appropriately with physician. Ability to triage for medical and psychiatric needs. Excellent customer service skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families and referral sources.
