Your Role:

EMD Electronics in Chandler, AZ is hiring a Production Planner. The primary responsibility of the Production Planner/Scheduler is to ensure the production schedules are dispatched daily to required work centers. The schedule represents the capacity available for both machine and labor, as well as ensures all materials are available to process the production orders. In addition, the Production Planner facilitates or attends various production and MRP planning meetings. Addresses all exceptions (i.e., failures, etc.) which may prevent an order from being processed as scheduled to maintain the ship promise date to the customer.

Key duties include:

  • Run daily work bench
  • Create production orders replacing forecast or new per most current scheduling guidelines established by Master Scheduler
  • Production package processing
  • Process packages received back from Order Configuration
  • Check material availability
  • Pursue advisements on non-available materials
  • Evaluate and act on MRP exception messages. Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize production delays.
  • Manage plant-to-plant material transfers
  • Process cancellations
  • Metric reporting
  • Creation of various weekly production reports

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED

{=html} <!-- --> - 3+ years of Manufacturing experience in a discrete manufacturing flow environment - 3+ years of experience with materials requirements planning (MRP) or material planning in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work daily in computer scheduling systems, mainframe systems, and PC applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work efficiently with all plant employees
  • Manufacturing scheduling experience using real-time, finite capacity scheduling systems and a technical understanding of process alternatives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment processing several critical transactions while maintaining accuracy
  • Highly organized with a strong level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in planning and scheduling in SAP
