Eagle Harbor Solutions, a Koniag Government Services Company, is currently seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer who has an Interim Secret clearance to support EHS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity.

The AWS DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in the automation, deployment, configuration, management, and monitoring of our AWS cloud-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate must be passionate about technology, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a drive for innovation. This position offers the opportunity to work fully remote after initial travel for onboarding which will be paid for by the client. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The AWS DevOps Engineer will focus on streamlining our software development and deployment processes by automating and optimizing CI/CD pipelines. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to enhance the automation of build, release, and deployment processes.

  • Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

  • Managing and monitoring cloud services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues in a timely manner.

  • Enhancing system performance, scalability, and security through automation.

  • Implementing best practices for security compliance, logging, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

Education, Clearance and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field – 4 years of experience can be substituted for no degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (or 1 year experience with master’s degree) in a DevOps or related role.

  • REQUIRES a minimum Interim Secret Clearance and eventually obtain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.

  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker, LXC or Rocket and container orchestration with Kubernetes.

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt.

  • Working knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN).

  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
