Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Electronics Engineer – Field Operations to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing software/hardware systems in complex IT systems and will be working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with customers and key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and maintain an on-premise multi-tenant data center environment.
Act as point of contract (POC) for the customer on all technical related issues, including Tier 1-3 support.
Develop engineering documentation for system configuration
Execute engineering projects on schedule.
Generate and redline documented procedures and troubleshoot.
Demonstrate good coordination, planning, and documentation skills.
Implement engineering changes to the system as required

This role will be required to work full-time, independently on-site at customer facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position and it will require the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience in IT disciplines, some of which should be in a lead role
Demonstrated experience with software virtualization products
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning/roadmap development and execution for operational systems
Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ Certificate. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Demonstrated experience with modern virtualization software and releases (Azure, VMware or similar).
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret/SCI clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Special Program Access
Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
Demonstrated expertise with mission support systems.
Demonstrated experience in IT process improvement through software automation process.
Demonstrated experience with on-premise data centers, cloud services, and edge computing.
Experience administrating of vSphere and vCF; experience with ESXi, vCenter, NSX and VDI
Experience trouble shooting of VMware products in a production environment
Experience administrating Container Technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker) in an production environment
Operating System Certification (Linux+, VMware Certified, etc.)
Aria Automation (vRA) and Aria Operations (vRO) experience
Scripting experience with vRO (PowerShell, Python, JavaScript).
Experience administrating Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (or equivalent) or above.
Experience administrating of NetApp Storage system On Tap and Storage grid.
In-depth experience in Operations and Maintenance activities of IT infrastructure
Experience configuring/maintaining Networking Hardware (Switch, Router)
5 or more years of experience with modern virtualization software and releases (Azure, VMware or similar).
5 or more years of experience as a technical lead
Salary Range: $171,000 - $256,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
