SAIC Test Engineer in CHANTILLY, Virginia

Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced, results-oriented, mission-driven Test Engineer in support of a USG big data program that Extracts, Transforms, and Loads (ETL) incoming datasets for use by numerous down-stream systems and analysts. The qualified candidate will be part of an Agile team of multi-disciplinary engineers who support an effort to increase the speed of data delivery for structured and unstructured data in the interest and support of national security objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate the quality of data received from data sources to assess changes/updates required for existing data flows

  • Evaluate conditioned data to ensure data is properly mapped and ready for UAT

  • Create or update data models to ensure that data is stored in an organized manner

  • Work with necessary technical support teams and business process owners for investigation and resolution of production quality control failures that affect operations service delivery

  • Develop processes and procedures to support the operating quality and efficiency of quality control checks in the production environment

  • Create and implement plans to improve data quality by identifying causes of errors or discrepancies and determining effective solutions

  • Create test procedures to verify data accuracy and readiness for use in production environments

  • Collaborate with developers, services team, and product managers to define the testing components that will be used to validate developed software

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Experience providing support to data engineering and ETL teams

  • Experience with SQL, Python, and Pyspark Scripting

  • Ability to work closely with highly technical IT database, development, and infrastructure teams

  • Ability to effectively communicate issues in writing and orally at appropriate levels of detail

  • Familiarity with Information Security best practices

  • Experience using testing tools such as Jenkins

  • Experience with Agile Scrum and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence

  • College degree (B.S. or greater) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline
